Newlings of Royston was purchased in May 1999 from Mr Norman Newling on his retirement from the funeral business.
Mr Newlings father, Sidney, had founded the family funeral firm of S. Newling and Son in 1945.

Originally based in Market Hill the company moved to newly refurbished premises in November 1999 when the new owners, Cambridge Funeral Services Ltd, another local independent funeral company, changed the name of the firm to Newlings of Royston.

We will endeavour to fulfill all the requirements of our clients within the bounds of legality and possibility whilst at the same time operating within the guidelines, code of practice and principles of:

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FUNERAL DIRECTORS

&

THE SOCIETY OF ALLIED INDEPENDENT FUNERAL DIRECTORS

 

As a professional business we believe funerals should be carried out with dignity and respect for both the deceased and the bereaved family. We consider that securing the services of a Funeral Director is the best way a client can ensure this.

However we will give advice and as much help as possible to those clients who wish to take responsibility for funeral arrangements themselves in circumstances where we consider this appropriate.

OFFICE HOURS

In order that we can respond to a request for our services at any time of the day or night we provide a service 24 hours a day to deal with the acute needs of families who find themselves bereaved.

A member of staff will be available at all times to respond to requests for our services. A telephone call is all that is required to make arrangements for the conveyance of the deceased to our chapel of rest. They will also be able to offer advice on the procedures that need to be followed.

Our Funeral Homes in Cambridge and Royston are open from 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. During these hours we would be pleased to make an appointment to meet with you to discuss funeral arrangements or any other matter on which we may be able to assist you.

If it would be easier for you to meet with a Funeral Director at your home or if a visit to you in the evening would be more convenient we will be happy to arrange this for you.

Visits to our Chapel of Rest for the purpose of viewing can be made by appointment.
